Terms of Use

The terms you agree to when you use Health AI.

Last updated 17 October 2026

These terms are the agreement between you and Bolt Business Limited, company number 16864050, for use of the Health AI app on iPhone and Apple Watch. By using the app you accept them.

1. Health AI is not medical advice

This is the most important term here, so it comes first.

Health AI — including the coach, your calorie and macro targets, calorie burn estimates, meal scans and every other number in the app — is general fitness and nutrition information. It is not medical advice, not a diagnosis, and not a substitute for a doctor, a registered dietitian or any other qualified professional.

Do not use it to treat, diagnose or manage any medical condition. Speak to a professional before starting a new diet or exercise programme, and particularly if you are pregnant, recovering from injury or surgery, managing a condition such as diabetes or heart disease, taking medication that interacts with diet or exercise, or have any history of disordered eating.

If you feel unwell while exercising, stop, and seek medical help.

2. The coach can be wrong

The coach is an AI. It produces plausible text, not verified fact, and it will sometimes be confidently wrong. Check anything that matters before acting on it. It knows only what is in your logs and what you tell it, and it cannot see you.

3. Accuracy of the numbers

Calorie targets are estimates from a standard formula and a small number of inputs. Calories burned in a run or workout are estimates. Food nutrition comes from public reference datasets — McCance and Widdowson's Composition of Foods Integrated Dataset, USDA FoodData Central, and Open Food Facts — which we do not control and which contain errors. A meal scan is an AI model's estimate from a photograph or a label, and portion sizes in particular can be off: check a scan before you rely on it. GPS distance depends on your phone and your surroundings.

Every figure in this app is an approximation, and should be treated as one.

The food data shipped with this app comes from McCance and Widdowson's Composition of Foods Integrated Dataset (CoFID), © Crown copyright, used under the Open Government Licence v3.0, and from USDA FoodData Central, which is in the public domain. Barcode and packaged-product data comes from Open Food Facts (openfoodfacts.org), and is available under the Open Database Licence (ODbL) v1.0, at opendatacommons.org/licenses/odbl/1-0. The barcode answers our server keeps from Open Food Facts are saved exactly as it returned them, and are available under the same licence: ask at support@thehealthai.co.uk. None of these organisations endorses this app.

4. Your account

You need an account to subscribe, and for the coach, scanning and the copies of your logs. You are responsible for keeping access to your email secure, and for activity under your account. Tell us at support@thehealthai.co.uk if you think someone else has access.

You must be at least 18 to use Health AI. Onboarding asks for your date of birth and refuses anyone younger.

5. Subscription, free trial and allowances

Health AI Pro is a monthly subscription, bought through the App Store: £9.99 a month in the UK, or the price the App Store shows you where you are.

To start using the app you choose the subscription, with a free trial of three days if you have not had one. Apple gives one trial per Apple ID, so a second account on the same Apple ID does not get another. If you do not cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends, it becomes a paid monthly subscription, and it renews each month until you cancel. You cancel in your iPhone's Settings → your name → Subscriptions; cancelling stops the next renewal, and the time you have already paid for runs to its end. Payment, renewal and refunds are handled by Apple under its terms, not by us: Apple sells the subscription, so your right to change your mind within 14 days of buying it, and any refund, are Apple's to handle. Ask at reportaproblem.apple.com.

The subscription includes 200 food scans and 300 coach messages a month; the free trial includes 30 scans and 50 messages over its three days. Allowances reset monthly and do not roll over.

If your subscription ends, the app keeps working for logging food, workouts and runs by hand and for scanning barcodes, and everything you logged stays yours. Scanning meals and nutrition labels, and the coach, need an active subscription.

We may change what is included in the subscription, such as the monthly allowances, for a good reason: a change in what the services behind them cost us, or in the law. We will tell you at least 30 days before a change that makes it worse for you, so you can cancel first, and nothing changes in a period you have already paid for.

6. Acceptable use

Do not use Health AI to break the law, to harass anyone, to attempt to extract our prompts or keys, to automate or resell access to the coach or the scanner, or to interfere with the service for other people.

7. Your content

What you log is yours. You grant us only the permission needed to run the service — storing the copies of your logs described in the privacy policy so they can be restored to another device, and sending your question and a summary of your logs to be answered when you ask the coach something. We do not use what you log for anything else.

8. Availability

We do not promise the app will always be available or error-free. Features that depend on other companies — sign-in, the coach, scanning, food databases, the maps behind your routes — can fail for reasons outside our control.

9. Ending it

You can stop using Health AI at any time and delete your account from Settings. Deleting your account does not cancel a subscription; cancel that through Apple as section 5 describes. We may suspend or end an account that breaks these terms.

10. Liability

Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer, and nothing here limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited by law.

Beyond that, and as far as the law allows: the app's information is general, and the choices you make with it about your health are yours, so we are responsible for what comes of them only where we caused it, by our negligence or by breaking these terms. We are not liable for losses nobody could have foreseen, or for business losses, and our total liability is limited to what you paid for Health AI in the twelve months before the claim.

11. Apple

These terms are between you and us, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for Health AI or its content, has no obligation to provide support for it, and is not responsible for any claim relating to it. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live elsewhere in the UK, you can also bring proceedings in your own part of it.

13. Changes

We may update these terms. For anything significant we will tell you in the app before it takes effect; continuing to use the app after that means accepting the new version. If you do not accept it, you can cancel your subscription through Apple and delete your account.
